Mr Tham holds the appointment of Group Chief Corporate Development Officer (GCCDO) and Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) of the National Healthcare Group (NHG). NHG is the central integrated cluster responsible for the health of more than 1 million residents living in the central and northern parts of Singapore. As GCCDO, Mr Tham is responsible for the corporate functions of strategic planning and organizational development. As GCOO, he oversees NHG’s push to improve efficiency and productivity. At the same time, he works with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement programs that would support the needs of the population across the entire spectrum of health – from those who have no illness, to those living with chronic disease, to the frail and to those in their final days.
Mr Tham was also the Chief Operating Officer of the Institute of Mental Health between 2010 and 2013, a position that he held concurrently with his GCCDO role. Prior to that, he held positions of Chief Information Officer at NHG and Raffles Medical Group as well as Managing Director and Chief Technology Architect of DBS Bank.
