31 August 2011, saw the celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival at the Assisi Hospice.  Our inpatients and patients from our Home Care and Day Care were all invited to join the party, which was by courtesy of our long-term corporate sponsor, City Developments Limited (CDL).

The celebration began with the distribution of mooncakes and lanterns to the inpatients who were too ill to join in the celebration at our Day Care Centre.

From CDL were Group GM, Mr Chia Ngiang Hong and Assistant GM, Mr Kwek Eik Sheng, accompanied by Assisi’s CEO, Mr Khoo Chow Huat and Executive Director, Irene Chan.  They visited each inpatient bearing these gifts and bringing cheer.

Following the gift-bearing visit, the mid-autumn festivities continued at the Day Care with a buffet dinner served at the Day Care Centre for all patients and their families, volunteers and staff.

The delightful entertainment that followed had everyone joyously clapping their hands and cheering.

It was clear that the CDL team had put in many hours of rehearsals and preparations to get ready for these performances.

The repertoire of performances ranged from Chinese culture fan dance, swordsmanship moves and singing that included sporting performances by CDL’s senior managers.

Smiling faces, laughter and cheers from the audience, reflected the mood throughout the celebration.

The evening ended with much gratitude to the CDL team for bringing such joy and cheer to our patients and all present.

A memorable time indeed for our patients!
