In-patient Wards

Our in-patient wards are open 24 hours, Monday to Sunday.
Volunteers are needed to help in:

• Assisting our nurses and patient care assistants to tend to the patients (eg. feeding patients, changing bed sheets, etc)
• Wheeling patients to the Day Care Centre or garden
• Accompanying patients on their hospital appointments
• Providing recreational activities eg playing board games, crafts, reading
• Massage therapy

Day Centres

Our Day Centres for adults and children operate from Monday to Friday, 10am – 3pm.
Volunteer assistance  in these areas:

• Be volunteer drivers
• Accompany the driver to fetch patients from their homes in the morning or send them back to their homes in the afternoon
• Conducting activities for patients such as karaoke, cooking, art and craft
• Tutoring the young patients

Home Care

Volunteer support for the following areas:

- Run errands for patients at their home

- Provide tuition for their children

- Assist in cleaning their homes

Projects

Fundraising

Be involved in our projects and fundraising events by providing manpower, expertise or logistics.

Grant Writers

Assist us in our application for grants to aid in the development and operations of Assisi.

Corporate Communications and Web-site Maintenance

Volunteers who are good at graphics, designing or writing can also help in our corporate communication projects and web-site maintenance.

Volunteer Therapy Aides

We are looking for qualified and trained individuals, nurses and physiotherapists to conduct physiotherapy, exercises and massages for the patients.

Volunteer Counsellors

We are looking for individuals with a degree or diploma in counselling, psychology or social work to volunteer your time to work with our patients. Volunteer counsellors are to report to our Medical Social Workers and must be available to attend our team meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.

Volunteer Gardener

Volunteers who have green fingers or who love to work with plants, enjoy doing landscaping and gardening are welcome to make Assisi’s garden and grounds more pleasant and beautiful for our patients.

Administrative Support Volunteers

We welcome volunteers to assist us in the areas of reception, data entry, administrative and secretarial support.

Professional Service Volunteer

We welcome medical doctors, dentists, nurses, lawyers, IT consultants to be part of our team. You will be involved in patient care or specific projects which is in the midst of development.

Virtual Volunteers

If you are not able to volunteer on-site and are willing to help in your own time and space, we welcome you as our virtual volunteer. You will have to attend our orientation programme. Thereafter, we will email assignments such as copy-writing, design of collaterals to you. You will just need to return the completed assignment to us on time.
