Bringing dog therapy to patient’s home

Sometimes, the gentlest kind of comfort comes on four paws and a wagging tail.

Our Home Care patient, Mdm Leong Siew Yeng, had a special place in her heart for the family’s beloved Shih Tzu, which had gone to the Rainbow Bridge years ago. Even as her health declined, her love for animals never faded. Her daughter, Rhoda, sensing how much she missed the presence of her furry companion, reached out for a final gift of comfort — a therapy dog visit.

Thanks to our incredible volunteers, therapy dog Ally and her human, Wendy, that wish came true. Ally visited Mdm Leong and Rhoda in their home, offering warmth, affection, and quiet companionship. It was a deeply meaningful moment — full of love, gentle joy, and peace.

Just three days later, Mdm Leong passed away peacefully, surrounded by love.

We are so grateful to Ally and Wendy for the compassion they brought during such a tender time. Sometimes, a dog’s touch can reach the heart in ways words never can.
