Translated from 8world News:

Assisi Hospice has launched a program to assist patients with chronic respiratory diseases in improving their quality of life during their final stages. Since its launch more than two years ago, the program has seen about 70 patients.

Since 2023, Assisi Hospice has been running the “STEP” program, which aims to provide tailored support for patients with chronic respiratory diseases, such as medical checks and physiotherapy, enabling them to better cope with daily life at home.

Assisi Hospice’s CEO Ms Choo Shiu Ling said, “What we hope to do is to support patients in living more independently at home and in the community. We have found that patients can better manage their symptoms now. Some of them have even started walking again.”

Assisi Hospice also held its annual fundraising event today. Dr Tan See Leng, Minister of Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, was invited to attend.

The hospice hopes to raise one million dollars through this year’s event to support terminally ill patients and their families.
