City Developments deputy CEO Sherman Kwek turned trishaw rider for a good cause during the Assisi Fun Day on June 18. Mr Kwek traded office attire for T-shirt and jeans to ferry Sister Florence Wong, 79, of Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood, and a patient’s granddaughter, Gracelyn Ng, five.

Dubbed, “CDL going the extra mile for charity”, the effort raised $76,000 for Assisi Hospice. The annual Assisi Fun Day is the hospice’s biggest fundraising event of the year. Assisi Hospice hopes to raise $1 million this year.

Founded by the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood Sisters in 1969, Assisi Hospice provides palliative care to patients with life-limiting illnesses.
