OVER S$500,000 has been raised for Assisi Hospice as at Sunday (Jun 18).

Of this, City Developments Limited (CDL) Group raised more than S$160,000, with S$130,000 contributed through its special charity segment – The CDL Challenge Bubble Soccer.

The game, in which members of the CDL management team – including group chief executive officer Sherman Kwek, group chief operating officer Kwek Eik Sheng and group general manager Chia Ngiang Hong – participated, took place at Assisi Fun Day 2023, a fundraising event held on Jun 11.

The carnival, which was co-organised with CDL, resumed physically after a three-year hiatus, and was graced by Minister for Education Chan Chun Sing and Assisi Hospice’s patron, Ho Ching.

There were about 110 stalls, which attracted about 10,000 visitors. The carnival is a community event put together by staff and volunteers from all walks of life, including organisations such as the Tung Lok Group and facilities partner CBM.

Sherman Kwek said: “The funds raised today will have a profound impact on the lives of patients at Assisi Hospice and their respective families. CDL has been a hospice partner since 1999, and their work serves as a beacon of light.”
